Aesop Rock’s “Hey Kirby” tour makes a stop at The Paramount

From making beats in his bedroom to establishing himself as an indie hip-hop performer for the past 20 years, Aesop Rock is now on his “Hey Kirby” tour in support of his seventh studio album, “The Impossible Kid,” which is making a stop at The Paramount in Huntington, on Jan. 21.

In his latest album, Aesop Rock tackles new subject matter, including topics like depression, rocky relationships and living in a barn out in the woods — where he recorded the foundations of “The Impossible Kid.”

Appearing in concert with Aesop Rock will be DJ Zone, along with Rob Sonic and Homeboy Sandman (who both worked on collaborative albums with him).

Aesop Rock also recently worked on “The Blob,” which is 32 minutes of an instrumental mix. This mix is a plus for me because when I’m working on the computer or exercising, I’m often in the mood for instrumental music exclusively (maybe you are, too). Along with “The Blob,” he also produced the soundtrack for the upcoming film “Bushwick.” If you are planning on seeing this new action-thriller, listen for Aesop Rock’s music.

So, whether you’ve enjoyed Aesop Rock’s music from the start or are looking for a new music artist to get into, check out the concert this weekend – and enjoy!
