Sample the food and the fun at feast-centric festivities in Glen Cove and Copiague

Chow down on sausage-and-pepper sandwiches at the Feast of St. Rocco in Glen Cove, this week, Aug. 2-5; and then, sample international delights, from kielbasa to plantains, at Our Lady of the Assumption Feast in Copiague, a few days later, Aug. 8-12. But, be sure to get family and friends to join you for a good time as there are also midway rides, games and carnival-style activities at these two, cool summer feasts.

Feast of St. Rocco: Church of St. Rocco, 18 Third St., Glen Cove
Often referred to as “The Best Feast in the East,” this feast promises to satisfy your food cravings – with dishes ranging from sausage-and-pepper sandwiches to homemade pasta and meatballs, as well as eggplant. And, if you’re like me and sweets are your go-to, the Pastry Pavilion is the place you’ll find Belgium waffles, homemade ice cream, Italian pastries, and, of course, me! Then, hit the midway rides and games, as well as do a little shopping, since craft vendors are to be on site and selling their wares.

Our Lady of the Assumption Feast: 1 Molloy St., Copiague
With international fare, like kielbasa and pierogis; pork and plantains and linguini in clam sauce, find plenty of your favorite foods and some new treats to feast upon. Your day will get even sweeter as the Dessert Booth is set to serve up cake pops, crumb cake, donuts and more. While there are midway rides by Newton Shows to consider, you can also get your fill of carnival goodies, including cotton candy, funnel cakes and zeppoles, that this group is bringing in. Live music and vendors will be on site, too.
