“Strawberry Central” returns to North Bellmore Thursday-Sunday

Step right up and find strawberries galore on the grounds of the Bellmore BOCES School, which has transformed into strawberry fields for this year’s Nassau County Strawberry Festival, held June 1-4.

Firstly, it wouldn’t be a strawberry-centric event without a range of strawberry delights; and you will find plenty of them here. Make sure to try some strawberry shortcake, strawberry cheesecake, strawberries covered in chocolate and strawberry daiquiris; maybe not all at once, though! Or, try them on their own since they are at their peak and ripe with flavor in June on Long Island.

Beyond the strawberry snacks, find many attractions to keep you entertained, including family fun on the midway. You can hitch a ride on the Ferris wheel to get an aerial view of the festival, with carnival rides and games spread across the grounds. And on June 3-4, Nassau County Craft Shows’ vendors will be out in full force with a huge selection of crafts and gifts.

Sponsored by the Bellmore Lions and the Kiwanis Club of Bellmore, this annual favorite is held to raise funds to help those in need in the community and across the island, as well as other, international charities. Volunteers for the two organizations will be under the Big Tent, with the strawberries and baked goods.

So, if you’re up for a “berry” good time, head on over to this festival – which offers hours of entertainment and, you’ve got it, strawberries!
