The Feast of Mother Cabrini

Hey there, it’s Jac!

Petting ZooIf you love Italian food and all kinds of carnival eats – like a ¼-mile of it – live music and rides, The Feast of Mother Cabrini in Brentwood, held Aug. 26-28 and Aug. 31-Sept. 5, is a festival you shouldn’t miss out on.

I have to talk about the food first. Walk along the promenade and you’ll find everything from sausage and pepper heroes and gyros to tacos and zeppoles. Oh, those zeppoles – the epitome of a summer fest for me. On Sept. 3, there is even a zeppole-eating contest, at 9 p.m.

There are also dozens of fun amusement rides, too. Try the Pharaoh’s Fury or the Crazy Bus. Plus, for family-friendly activities, check out the petting zoo and magic show. If you like fireworks, the sky will be filled with them on Sunday (Sept. 4) night at 9:45 p.m. There’s truly something for everyone.

I went, and I had so much fun; especially feeding the rabbits and the pig at the petting zoo. And, if you go, have fun, readers!
