Okay, if you like to shop for one day, two days or until you drop, I’ve picked a few shows with plenty to look at and so much to buy, taking place this Saturday and Sunday.
Art, Craft and Gift Market, April 14-15, Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn
Going to a beautiful park in near-70-degree (finally) weather can only get better, especially for the shopper in me, when there is going to be about 50 or more vendors set up with unique and handmade pieces, like jewelry, clothing, home decor and artwork. Shopportunities await us!
Gem and Mineral Show, April 14-15, Freeport Recreation Center
This show is just too cool. Here, you can treasure hunt amongst the showcases of minerals, crystals, gemstones, jewelry, beads and fossils that fill the room, and/or shop for a standalone gemstone, or those that are set in platinum, gold and silver at this themed show, offering “products produced by Mother Earth.” And nature’s hand is evident in the vibrant colors of minerals (many of which are said to have metaphysical properties; ask vendors) like amethyst, fluorite and quartz.
Craft and Gift Fair, April 15, Newfield High School in Selden
I wouldn’t even know where to start with 75 artisanal vendors, selling jewelry, artwork, textiles, country crafts and rum cakes, as well as spring-like gifts, from bird feeders to floral arrangements. There’s also soy candles and organic soaps – my favorite! And, this is just a sampling of what you can expect to see here.
Get in the spring spirit and go shopping!
