Fall in love with the Swingtime Big Band

The Valentine’s Day holiday for you might be going on a romantic date with your significant other or getting a heart-shaped box of day-after discounted chocolates, but how about falling in love with something new, like the Swingtime Big Band’s music being showcased on Feb. 12, at Madison Theatre at Molloy College.

This Long Island-based big band is performing classic love songs from the Swing Era and the Great American Song Book in its “Let’s Fall in Love: A Swingtime Big Band Valentine,” at 3 p.m.

Swingtime’s 20-piece jazz ensemble brings to life the sounds of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Les Brown and Duke Ellington. And, the band’s two vocalists pay tribute to legendary singers Ella Fitzgerald and Dean Martin.

So, bring anyone who appreciates the music of yesteryear; whether it’s a date, a friend or even a grandparent. Because I am sure this is music that you’re going to love in a BIG way!
