Spring art show and sale on the East End

Collectors of original or locally-made art pieces and shoppers with a fondness for one-of-a-kind items should clear their calendars this weekend, as The Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild, Inc. is hosting an art show and sale, from April 1-2, as part of its Spring Juried Art Competition.

Fine art and sculpture, photography, mixed media and handmade crafts will be on display at the non-profit organization’s location in Cutchogue. If you’d like to meet the artists, most of them will be at the reception Friday, according to Guild President Bob Kuhne.

The show and sale begins after Juror Scott McIntire, an artist based in Brooklyn and Greenport, decides which submitted artwork pieces receive the coveted awards of first-, second- and third-place.

And while you’re enjoying the artwork, don’t forget to check out the guild’s gift shop, where you can find more handmade crafts – like custom jewelry and pottery.

Unique items await your browsing (and buying) this weekend and next, as the show and sale continues April 8-9.
