Food-themed attractions are served up with a side of fun

If you’re a foodie, it’s your time to rejoice. Get your fill of food samples, from ooey, gooey mac-and-cheese to Italian specialty dishes, at this appetizing event, with more than 20 restaurants and shops in the Village expected to participate; all proceeds going to breast cancer research at Stony Brook Medicine. Along with the food samples from places like Sweet Mama’s, The Country House, Robinson’s Tea Room, Fratelli’s Italian Eatery, Crazy Beans and Chocolate Works, visitors can enjoy demos, raffles, giveaways, a Chinese auction, and 90s-themed music and dancing. Feel like you’ve stepped right into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory at this expo, which is to be teeming with sweet aromas, chocolate fountains and tons of tasty treats. Indulge in gourmet chocolates, baked goods, specialty foods, gelato and cheeses, as well as enjoy wines, spirits, hard ciders and craft sodas, from local and regional vendors. Chocolate is showcased in foods and products, from fudge and chocolate-covered bacon to chocolate-scented personal care products; plus, in celebration of Apollo 11 mission’s 50th anniversary, food artist Nancy Baker will re-create a scene from a famous photo of the moon landing, using chocolates, cookies and colored sugars.
