“Let ye all be Irish” at Hofstra’s Irish Festival

While the St. Patrick’s Day holiday we commemorate with the wearing of green and corned-beef-and-cabbage dinners isn’t until next weekend, you can still celebrate all that is Irish this weekend at the annual Hofstra Irish Festival, on March 12.

At the fest, munch on authentic Irish food while shopping for Irish-themed products and the wares of other craft vendors. Traditional Irish music and ballads, combined with elements of rock, pop and R&B, will fill the room as the McLean Avenue Band takes center stage. You’ll also be humming the tunes of returning performers Tony Jackson and the Black Velvet Band. And, it wouldn’t be an Irish fest without a performance by Irish Step Dancers, courtesy of the Hirten Irish Dance School.

So, get your green on, whether you’re Irish by blood or just for the day, to enjoy and connect with Irish culture at this festival, which comes back every year. This is the 19th one, so it must be fun!
