Treat yourself to Halloween sights, sounds and scares this weekend

Since this spooky season is almost coming to a “dead” end, clear your schedules for one, or both, of these haunted happenings (for all ages): Raynham Hall Museum’s Halloween Ghost Walk in Oyster Bay and the Riverhead Halloween Fest.

Raynham Hall Museum’s Halloween Ghost Walk. Don’t scream if you happen to see Revolutionary War ghost horses wandering through the Village of Oyster Bay, on Oct. 28. It’s simply the museum’s second annual Ghost Walk! With the ghost puppets designed by Superior Concept Monsters, Inc., the parade will also feature jugglers, stilt walkers and other performers. Dress in your All Hallows’ Eve best, as attendees are invited to come to the parade in costume. You’re also encouraged to carry lanterns and chimes.

The parade route begins at 7 p.m., at Christ Church Rectory on E. Main Street, and travels down White Street, south on South Street to Townsend Park, and then ends at the old Railroad Station. Following the parade, there will be a final celebration at the station. Details: 516-922-6808. raynhamhallmuseum.org.

Riverhead Halloween Fest. Downtown Riverhead is transforming into a real-life Halloween town, from Oct. 27-29. Along with events at The Suffolk Theater and the Long Island Aquarium, head to Main Street on Saturday to enjoy pumpkin-carving, trick-or-treating and a parade. The first 100 participants will get a free pumpkin to carve and display in the Jack-O’-Lantern Walk.

Also on Saturday, there will be the first ever Halloween Fest Coffin Races along Griffing Avenue. Watch from the sidelines as these decorated coffins race to the finish line. Prizes will be awarded to the coffin racers. Details/times: 631-591-0722. halloweenfestriverhead.com.
