Entertain the kids with inspiring, funny and playful short films at film fest

To keep the kids occupied during the holiday break, bring them over to the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, which is presenting a selection of award-winning short films from the New York International Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF), on Dec. 30. The fest begins at 6 p.m.

The films being shown, including NYICFF award-winners “The Visitors,” “Octopus,” and “One, Two, Tree,” are appropriate for all ages and are recommended for kids ages 3-7 years old.The program features one live-action film and 11 animated shorts by filmmakers from Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“These inspiring, funny, and playful short films are entertaining for families, while acknowledging that children have complex ideas and emotions and can think about big issues,” says Cara Conklin Wingfield, the director of education at the Parrish Museum.

I think that animated films can be enjoyed by people of all ages, so you (and your family, too) shouldn’t miss out on this film festival. And if you go, have fun, readers!
