Fun in the sun at outdoor attractions this Sunday

With sunny skies in the forecast, I found two great events, an Antique and Classic Car Show and a Summer Garden Festival, that are being held on July 8 – outdoors!

Antique and Classic Car Show. The grounds of Sagtikos Manor in Bay Shore will be taken over by more than 100 vehicles that (would you believe?) can date back to 1942. Take a look at the engines, as some of the hoods will be popped open to have them on display. You, as an attendee, can get in on the action and help to award the People’s Choice Award for First, Second, Third and Fourth place cars. There is live music and vendors to look forward to, as well.

Summer Garden Festival. Celebrate the warmest season of the year with live music, kids’ crafts and face painting at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay. The whole family can take a ride through the gardens on the Clown Express, a trackless train; and to beat the heat for a few minutes, take a self-guided tour of Coe Hall. Tours are offered throughout the day. Also, enjoy free beer and donut tastings – how sweet!

So, slather on sunscreen and get outdoors to stop by either, or both, of these events for the summer-day kind of fun everyone in the family can enjoy.
